·        Modern Café was found in 1938 by Late Sri H T Vasudeva Rao as a small 175 sft Udupi tea stall at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. In 1960s they had 4 theatre canteens, 4 Railway Stations Contracts, 3 restaurants and outdoor catering services. It flourished and grew to 5 hotels with a 275 rooms capacity & 200 pax Udupi veg restaurants, in 1990s. Later due to declining margins in the veg restaurant business & inflationary increase of real estate costs & rents, the group gradually slowed down their operations. In 2020s, the group has 2 land mark lodging houses namely:

The Sree Lakshmi Vilas Modern Café Lodging had become a property of no man’s interest in 2024. That’s when the eternal gen entrepreneurs Mr Neelam Bhanu Murthy & Mr Ramakrishna Hejamadi Tati, have taken up the mandate of operating this lodge, purely
